Here's an update from Hamish Rosser who just returned from holiday in Thailand:
The word in Vinesland is that we're looking for a producer so we can start recording by the end of the year but as yet we have no date, no deal and no producer. What we do have is about 20 new songs that are ready to go.

We were told The Vines hope to release their fourth album sometime in 2008 and may even record in the United States. Brad Heald announced, "Craig loves America." They hope to do a small tour once the album is released.
Also, The Vines will appear in a documentary showcasing Australia's classic rock albums (Highly Evolved). Hopefully we'll have more information on the broadcast date soon.
The Vines will also make an appearance on an upcoming Ivy League 10th anniversary album.
And soon you'll hear The Vines cover The Veronicas' debut hit 4Eva on the upcoming album, No Man's Woman (A Tribute to Women in Voice), which features Australian male artists interpreting songs made famous by female singers. The Veronicas' Lisa and Jess Origliasso reckon it's "totally awesome." "We're so stoked," Lisa says. "We heard it this morning. I love all the harmonies (Craig Nicholls) does. They've so completely made it their own but they've kinda stayed true to the foundation of the song. They've definitely put their edge to it." The compilation album will be out October 20th through Dew Process/UMA. Look out for it!

Oh I really hoped the new album is going to be till the end of the year...And now it sounds it is not even going to be in early 2008...well if it must be that way it's OK, but I don't know how I'm going to survive till then

PS- Nick Launay or Rich Costey... I know I keep saying that and I know money is currently an issue, but... they would both do amazing things with the vines music. I mean amazing.

I bet thealbum will be released Spring 2008 at the earliest, but probably more July/August time if we're being realistic!
