July 6: Vines Catch Up

Postby Brooklyn Girl on Sun Jul 06, 2008 10:18 pm

It's been a while and we're extremely sorry for that.

So now it's time to get back on track and catch up on all things Melodia...

I'm sure you've all noticed the new forum. We had a few bugs in the last one so hopefully this one will run smoothly. We think the new design is pretty snazzy so we hope you like it too.

So what's been going on? Well The Vines put out an EP on iTunes. Unfortunately it's only available in Australia but if you're lucky enough to live in Oz, the EP contains two unreleased tracks, "Hey Now" and "Blue Jam."

You can also pre-order your albums, whether you live in Oz, UK/Europe or the US.

In Oz you can pre-order a signed copy of the album by going to JB Hi-Fi at http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/music/id/1150629.

If you live in the US, you can pre-order "Melodia" via Insound (http://www.insound.com) to be released July 19th. And not only do all DTI members receive 10% off their order (all members should have received this fan club alert already), you will receive the unreleased mp3, "Make Believe," upon completion of your order. This track is also not available on the "Melodia" album.

If you live in the U.K. or Europe, you can pre-order "Melodia" via HMV (http://hmv.com/hmvweb/home.do). The release date in the U.K. is July 14th.

The album is also being streamed in its entirety via the Vines MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/thevines) and the Dreamin the Insane MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/dreamintheinsane). We think it's amazing!!!

And in case you've been living under a rock, the video for He's A Rocker is out.

But for a laugh, here's a funny version of He's A Rocker. What a goof ball!

In Australia, Channnel [V] will be airing a one-hour special, [V] Live: The Vines 'Melodia', on Saturday July 12th at
12 noon, the same day the album is released. Not only will you see The Vines perform their album in its entirety, you'll also catch interviews with the band, and hear the stories behind the songs on 'Melodia.' Don't miss the return of The Vines for this special event exclusive to Channel [V]. A few lucky fans got to go to the taping at The Forum in Sydney. We'll be covering all that in an upcoming issue of the fan club e-zine.

The Vines also played a MySpace Secret Show at Melbourne's The Tote on June 26th. Here's a great clip posted by a fan on YouTube, and check out more vids there as well as cool pics and a c=video on http://www.myspace.com/secretshowsau.

There was also a great interview with Craig in Triple J's jmag. Check out a sneak peek here:

That's it for now but we'll be getting more updates very soon so be on the look out. :happydance:
